....to order your coffee "breve."

Somehow after living in Seattle for a few years, and getting addicted to amazing coffee, I never learned what "breve" was. This weekend I am visiting Seattle, and while a buddy and I were out hitting some of my favorites we had to get some good iced coffee. He told me that I should order it breve. Apparently breve means with half and half instead of milk or creamer. It was AMAZING! From now on all my coffee will be ordered that way. Though I am told to order less, because it will go straight to my gut lol. So next time you are hitting a cute coffee shop or your local starbucks, order the usual, but this time get it BREVE.

So I figured for this blog I would just let you know how my trip is going. We got in late Thursday night, and Miss Cupcakes Dad was kind enough to pick us up (thanks Gidu). Friday morning we got up and visited my old office here in Seattle. The guys were happy to see me, and as usual not a lot of work was getting done lol. We actually walked in on a "manager's meeting." Apparently the meeting was about how to fly some new remote control helicopters my old boss picked up at the hobby shop. But they are doing a great job, and blowing out their numbers, and in this company that's the most important thing.

From there, Miss Cupcake and I went to her old work for a visit. Everyone was really excited to see her, and we checked on Sweetie McGee via webcam from her summer camp. Sweetie was having fun learning arts and crafts, canoeing, archery, and going to the ice cream social. We took one of Miss Cupcake's friends out to lunch to Torrero's. It's one of the spots they used to go to all the time during work, except this time we got to order maragaritas. It was a fun time, but Washington mexican food has nothing on Texas mexican food.

With tequila in our veins the excitement for what came next was bubbling over. We headed to meet our great friend, and personal hair stylist Mrs Independent Woman.

(I know, I know. How can it be "Mrs" Independent Woman? Well she is married to a super cool dude, and if you met her you'd understand. Man! You guys are so judgemental. Can we all just agree to get off the grammar train for a bit, and just enjoy some stories? Now take a breath and drink your bloody mary)

Anyways, like I was saying, "We got our hair did!" (said in the voice of a black woman with long fake nails, and a weave made from horse hair). Miss Cupcake has been so excited because she decided to cut about 10 inches off her locks. It looks FANTASTIC! She is the super stylish french girl that every girl loves her style, but lacks the confidence to pull off. She's absolutely stunning, and I look forward to posting some pics soon.

After a quick nap it was time to head to Puyullup to a friend of Miss Cupcakes house for a bbq. It was an absolutely wonderful evening. We ate kabobs, roasted corn, potato salad, hummus, and no bake cookies (affectionately known as "chocolate nummies"). The food was delicious. We had tons of good beer, and I drank quite a few Sapphire and Sevens. We told stories, and laughed for hours. The climax of the evening was the 6 of us fairly intoxicated sitting around their newly constructed fire pit. It was nice and cool outside so the fire felt great. We made smores and discussed marshmallow roasting techniques. The entire night was just wonderful, and I don't believe I've laughed that much or that hard in quite a long time. So thank you goes out to my Mafia Wars buddies, and the cyclist and his supportive wife.

On Saturday I dropped off Miss Cupcake at our friend Little Miss Doody's bridal shower. From what I hear it was a lot of fun. But during the shower I got to take Gigi's (Cupcake's Mom) car out on the town. I picked up my friend that just moved to Seattle, and showed him some of my favorite things. We went to Pirohshky Pirohshky in the market, Trophy Cupcakes in Wallingford, Top Pot Doughnuts, and to a great little coffeehouse. It was a blast, and made me wish I was back here permanently.

Once I picked up Miss Cupcake we got to spend a little time with her parents (Gidu and Gigi). It's always so great to see them. Now that they are in AZ, and we are in TX, it's harder to get together, but we try every chance we get. They've always done a great job at being my second family, and meeting them for lunch or dinner on the weekends when we lived in Seattle was always one of the highlights of my week.

We then met up with some friends, Wilbot and his girlfriend, and Joe Knows and his better half, for sushi at Wasabi Bistro. Excellent sushi on 2nd street in downtown Seattle, but sometimes lackluster service. Not to worry though, the cocktails are strong, and the food is delicious so it's easier to get over the jerk that won't bring you some more edamame.

All in all it has been a wonderful trip so far. I'm just so thankful to have a wonderful woman by my side, and a plethora of family and friends to share it with. Thank you all for making my time here so enjoyable. I will post more about this trip tomorrow, but for now I'm headed to another bbq. Woohoo. Good day Ya'll!

....to remember to bring underwear.

That's it, I know it's a very simple idea, but I'm leaving for a long weekend in Seattle today with Miss Cupcake, and I want to make sure that I remember. Very simple good idea, but such a huge and unpleasant mistake when you forget.

So like I said today I'm leaving. I get so excited packing a bag and heading to the airport. If I'm being honest it really doesn't matter where I'm going, I still seem to get very excited. This trip is going to be amazing though. It is my first time back in Seattle since I moved to Austin in January. I will make sure to post about all my adventures, but I'd like to focus on the excitement of travel for a bit. When I was younger we rarely took vacations that required a plane ride. So when we did get to fly somewhere I always felt like it was a very special occasion. Later in my teens and early 20's, I was in a band. I booked us every out of state gig I could just to go see the world. I loved being on tour and seeing all the amazing places this country has to offer. When I owned a small record label for awhile I even took my travels to the next level. We would book events out of state, and fly down our whole staff. We'd put everyone up in a hotel, and it just felt like I was this young hip professional jet setting all over the country making money, and leading a fabulous life.

I'm not sure why I felt such an excitement to get on a plane and get off a few hrs later several thousands of miles away. I know that I always felt a little to big for Oklahoma growing up, and I'm glad that my parents agreed. I guess I'm writing this to see if anyone feels the same way. I know that it's easy to become jaded with security lines, baggage check, tiny seats, and all the unpleasantness of travel, but does anybody else out there still get excited to get on a plane? If not, I'm ok with being the weirdo.

OK so I haven't been keeping up with wines for recommendation, so here is another one. The winemaker is Penfold's. The bottle is the Thomas Hyland Shiraz. Penfold's is a huge winery from Australia. Because the rest of the world hasn't caught on to the amazing wines coming out of Australia their wine is typically sold cheaper. Penfold's does have some absolutely incredible high priced wines as well, but the majority of their wine is very reasonable. This bottle ranges from $19-$23 depending on where you are buying from. A little about "Shiraz." If you like Syrah, then you will love Shiraz, because they are the same thing. Different parts of the world call the same grapes different things. Confusing as it is, it doesn't happen too often, and this is definitely the biggest example. The flavor characteristics for this wine from me, which is not to say you will have something completely different, are as follows.
The wine seems mild to medium bodied. There is a lot of juicy fruit flavors like red plum and different types of cherries. And the finish has just a little pepper. Nothing too strong or bity like crushed black pepper. It is much more subtle like the zip of a roasted bell pepper. Very delicious.

This was one of the first wines I served with fish. And yes it is more than ok to serve a red with fish, don't be so stuck up about it lol. My absolute favorite dish for pairing this wine is a grilled salmon filet with lemon pepper and dill. It really brings out a meaty quality in the fish that is quite nice, as well as the lemon compliments the fruit of the wine and adds acidity. Always make sure there is a little black pepper on the fish before serving with this wine, because what it does to the finish is what really made me fall in love with this bottle. That little bit of cracked pepper makes the real lip smacking fruit flavors jump forward, and then just adds a really clean refreshing little nip of that spice on the end. I know that all these descriptions may sound really snarky, so let me try a different description.

This wine reminds me of eating a delicious caprese salad. Big juicy tomato flavor, and subtle sweet and savory notes from the olive oil, only to be finished with that great little bite of fresh cracked pepper. I hope that helped clarify a few things for you. I hope you enjoy this blog, and that bottle. Please feel free to leave your comments about travel, and wine, or anything for that matter lol. Thanks for reading. Good Afternoon.

....to stick to one martini when dining with your boss

I had this experience tonight, and I didn't heed this advice. It wasn't bad, but after 2 Grey Goose martini's (all thanks to Miss Cupcake's dad for turning me onto those) I felt a little more loose than I prefer in front of the higher ups. It was very pleasant, and basically a celebration of doing a good job for me so I wasn't really worried about it. That being said, you can never take back the night you stood on the table and sang "Benny And The Jets" at the top of your lungs while all the other patrons looked awkwardly at your rhythmic air thrusting, so it's best to limit yourself to one drink. "If it can turn into such a nightmare why even have a drink at all", could be what you're asking. Well I will tell you why. A study done by the heads of sociology at Harvard concluded that people that drink alcohol are statistically 33% more successful than people that don't. The primary reason being the amount of business discussed, and closed over drinks. So don't miss the opportunity to unite yourself with the big man over a martini or jack and coke. Just play it safe so you don't end up becoming the guy he can't look at in the office the next morning.

So I hoped that helped someone out there. Today I'd like to tell you a story. My father, who also writes an equally successful blog (http://www.dad-imjustsaying.blogspot.com/) wrote a blog about how much we all enjoy story time, so I will piggyback his idea and just share one of my favorites.

After all the great successes, and more importantly the huge failures I've had in my life, I tried to sit down and define myself. You know, that thought you come to where you say, "who am I? what do I stand for." In the event of big failures in our personal life (divorce or accident) and professional (fired or failed business) we start to question these things. When I hit bottom, and was deep in self evaluation, I kept coming back to a story I used to tell all my friends that my Dad told me. So here it is.

One morning two men are walking down the street to the coffee shop. Headed their direction is a woman. The woman is dragging her feet and slouched over with a displeased look on her face (very similar to what we all feel like on Monday headed to the office). As the woman gets closer one of the guys looks at her and winks, then gives a big smile. Seeing this she immediately smiles back. Her posture straightens, and she appears to get a little swagger to her step. Once the woman is out of earshot the other guy looks at the first guy and asks "Dude, why did you do that? She's way too ugly for you. You can do so much better." To which the first gentleman replied, "Yes, but if she's a teacher, just think about what kind of day her students are going to have." This story always seemed so literal to me. And the meaning I took from it was this. You as a person have an effect on everyone you come in contact with everyday. Even if it is to a very very small degree, it is impossible to have a neutral effect. When I was deciding on what building blocks I would use to define who I am, this one seemed ideal. It wasn't something that required an immense amount of faith, because I'd experienced it so many times. And it was something I felt I could be genuinely proud of.

So as you ponder this story for the next few seconds remember this. If you are going to have an effect on everyone you see today, will it be a positive one? And let's take it the next step. If it is a positive one, will you take that little extra step to make a larger impact? Or will you just be pleasant, and forgettable. If you do choose to make a lasting impact, and make conversation with your grocery store clerk, or bank teller, I must warn you that it definitely comes back around. Be prepared for some fun doors and opportunities opening for you all over. This isn't a cure all. The DMV will still suck, and work will still be work. But, you may not just hate it so much you want to punch someone. Thanks for reading everyone. I love the comments (Dad and Gigi). Please feel free to write more, and don't hesitate telling your friends about this blog. I'd love to get some perspective from non friend/family members. Love you all. Goodnight.

....to not expect Father's Day priveleges because you baby your dog.

Yeah that's right I said it! I have got a cute puppy! Her name is Sweetie McGee, and all my readers out there know that she just celebrated her first birthday this week. So yes, I know that she isn't a real baby, but she's my baby.

Miss Cupcake and I are returning to Seattle this next weekend to visit. Because of all the activities we have planned, and the new floors in her parent's home, we decided to board Sweetie McGee for the first time ever. It was a hard decision that we spent weeks researching. We found the greatest place as a referral from a friend here in Austin. It's called Camp Bow Wow. (http://www.campbowwow.com/)
At this camp before you can board your dog here they have to be interviewed. They don't allow aggressive dogs, or dogs that don't play well with others, or any dogs not up to date on all their current vaccinations. So today was the test. We dropped Sweetie off in the morning, and almost in tears just kept assuring ourselves we were doing the right thing as we drove away. One of the great features of this place are the large number of webcams all over the facility. Anytime your dog isn't in it's private kennel, you can watch them in real time online. Needless to say once her playtime started her Mama and I watched for almost 2 solid hours biting our nails and stressing out.

Sweetie McGee is a very shy dog, and tends to hide or crawl inside herself at the site of other dogs. At first she was real nervous and went to the furthest corner of the play area. But as time went on one of the great staff members there gave her a few treats, picked her up and held her until she calmed down. Then she placed Sweetie in the middle of the area on top of this small ramp. Well she absolutely loved it there. From that little perch she could keep an eye on all the other dogs, and felt like she was a big dog, and wouldn't be stepped on. She eventually warmed up and decided to examine the hind quarters of her fellow campers until it was time for us to pick her up. All in all the experience wore all of us out. I love this dog so much it scares me to think that if I had an actual child, I'd prefer the dog lol.

In other news I wanted to give you a wine recommendation. I've been promising this for awhile so here it goes. The first wine I'm going to recommend is a white. I know! I know! But hear me out. When I started drinking wine, the idea of bringing a white to the table was almost insulting. But the truth is when it is 101 degrees outside, a cool glass of white is really appreciated. So here is a suggestion for a white I love. The wine is Louis Jadot Chardonnay.

You can generally find this bottle for under $20 in most decent grocery or liquor stores. If they don't have this particular one, the any of the Louis Jadot Chardonnay blends are excellent and similarly priced. They look the exact same except instead of saying chardonnay they have some crazy french words. This wine is really buttery and really easy to drink. Please Please PLEASE! Don't get this wine to cold. It needs to be slightly chilled below room temperature. If you make wine cold it tastes like gravel, and bitter, and won't be an enjoyable experience at all. I love how food and wine play together, and that's what really got me interested in wine to start with. This particular wine, as well as most buttery chardonnays, go well with corn based dishes. I actually really enjoy this wine with warm salty buttery popcorn. It's a great movie beverage. And if the movie starts to suck, then you just drink more to compensate. As per request tomorrow I will do a top 5 list of wines and food pairings to go with them. Nothing complicated, and nothing too expensive. Hope you enjoyed. Goodnight.

....to put your mom's birthday in your blackberry

Now don't get me wrong I'm a good son. I remembered earlier this week, and even talked about it with my Mom yesterday, but for some reason this morning when we spoke my mind didn't register it. I remembered as I had some paperwork to do and when I wrote down the date it hit me. This week has really just flown by. So I thought I would share a little about my Mom today so that you know how unforgettable this woman really is to me.

My Mom must be the strongest woman that ever lived. Being outnumbered 4 to 1 by headstrong boys in our house, I guess she would have to be. She is a passionate woman with incredible taste in everything. She dresses well and is quick to offer to pick up the tab at lunch lol.
As I was growing up when someone I knew got a haircut or wore something different I always noticed. I remember being very little and commenting on my Mom's new jewelry, shoes, or hairstyle. It was just something I always did. It wasn't until I got older that I realized that I think the reason I continued to notice and comment, was how good it made my Mom feel to hear that her little bit of extra effort was appreciated. I just knew I noticed, and always liked it. As trivial as this might sound, in all the relationships I've had in my past I can say one of the few consistencies has been how much that trait is appreciated. If I didn't have a Mom that made the extra effort to try something new, or have fun with her style, or if she didn't react so positively when I commented on it, that trait would've never became second nature. On the other hand when your ex military boss gets his buzz cut cleaned up he doesn't have the same reaction when you say "oh so you got a hair cut, looks good." I guess Dad's hair has always been the same lol.

My Mom is my movie buddy. My family is always doing something. We are generally playing games, eating, cooking something to eat, or watching a movie. My Mom and I however were always the movie team. I remember on several occasions playing hookie from family activities and hitting the theater. In fact during my divorce, one of the best memories I have is going on a Mom date to see "The Notebook" in the theater with her. It was just the push I needed to have a good cry, and blow off some steam. We both had a great time blaming allergies and laughing at eachother all the way back home.
I must say that out of all the great characteristics my Mom has, I think her patience is my favorite. Only later in life did I realize she even had any. As a very impatient person myself, it's hard to notice how patient other people are with me all the time. The fact that she didn't just come home guns ablazin' one day is really a shocker. She knows exactly how to give up in a conversation without being patronizing. This is a skill I have a feeling I may never master.

So I write this blog to say "Thank you Mom." You have inspired, supported, guided, and enriched this son's life more than you will ever know. And if you want to go see that movie "The Proposal," sometime soon, I will make a special trip out there just for you.

To my legions of followers that didn't give birth to me, I hope you aren't to disappointed that this post wasn't the recipes and wine I promised. But I swear to give you a great price breakdown and tasting notes on exactly what wine's I recommend for this wonderful summer season. (Oh and if you didn't cry during "The Notebook" I'm not the weird one, YOU ARE!).

Goodnight, and please support my Dad's blog http://www.dad-imjustsaying.blogspot.com/ and my brothers blog http://www.maybetodayworld.blogspot.com/. If you get a chance, I added a funny pole to my blog, and would love to see how you vote. It's on the top right corner of the page. Enjoy, and see you tomorrow.

....to learn how to ride a bike while you're young

As the oldest of 3 boys my brothers got to learn from my mistakes, although I'm not sure the middle brother actually paid attention. I come from a family of very quick witted, and snarky people. It has always been customary to exploit eachother's shortcomings for yours, and anyone else in the rooms enjoyment. Now it sounds like we were a bunch of jerks that you'd like to see stuck on the side of the road changing a tire and getting what we deserve. But it always came from a place of love, and good humor. I can honestly say I wouldn't of had it any other way.

I say all that to tell you this. My youngest brother was always the baby of the group. All he had to do was just look up at my parents with those sad eyes, and his 2 months of grounding would turn into "you have to go to bed an hour early tonite." When I was younger, although incredibly frustrating, I was always amazed to watch it happen. That being said, as an older brother, and with my parents unable to do any of his needed disciplining, middle bro and I took it upon ourselves to cut the young one down to size from time to time.

One of the great examples of this was learning to ride a bike. You see our little brother didn't learn to actually ride a bike on his own until he was 13 years old. That "ride of passage" if you will, never interested him. He was quieter, and had his qwerks. We would tease him all the time. And when his friends would come over, we would make sure to see if they all wanted to go ride bikes around the neighborhood. (Don't worry, if you're thinking to yourself that I'm a total asshole I get mine in the end, so just keep reading.........and don't be so judgemental. It was funny!).

Well a recent change has happened in my life. I've recently turned 26, moved to Austin, TX from Seattle, WA, and realized that I can't drink soda and eat burgers all day, and stay in shape. So I did what every guy my age group does when they hit this wall and tried watching what I eat. I'm not sure I totally grasped that concept because I made sure to keep a real close watch on all the junkfood while I was eating it, and I still gained weight! So realizing that Coca Cola is something that my body is not capable of doing without I decided to exercise. I'm not sure if you guys know this, but Lance Armstrong lives in Austin, TX. As well as there is an enormous biking community. So that's what I did. I got a bike!
Knowing my propencity to giving up on things I don't enjoy (thanks high school algebra, I can't say I learned nothing I guess) I decided if I was going to do it I would go all the way. I bought I good road bike, with the shoes that clip into the pedals, the helmet, computer, pump, repair kit, water bottle, nice lock, and yes the bicycle shorts. After taking one bike out on a 5 minute test ride, the next day I woke up quite sore. So with injuries still tender, when I went to purchase the bike I threw pride out the window for comfort. As my family has become aware of my new healthy hobby, and the less than flattering uniform, there has been no shortage of jokes at what a site I must be huffing down the road. And to their credit I'm sure they are 100% accurate.

During a trip my youngest brother and his fiance took to visit me, Miss Cupcake, and Sweetie McGee in Austin, we saw a great many number of cyclists on our adventures around the city. And man did he ever make sure to take advantage of some payback. No matter where we were, diner, movies, shopping, or even just driving along. Whenever we saw someone that was obviously "new" to biking he'd yell "There goes my brother." Or he'd ask me in front of a waitress, "is that what you look like?" Yes yes it all came full circle.

You know maybe the really good idea is don't make fun of your brother for not riding a bike, because you might end up as some out of shape amateur in the Lance Armstrong starter kit puffing your way to a heart attack when it bites you in the ass.

Sorry there were no pics of the food from the last couple days. Tomorrow's blog will be all about food, and a few wines I love that aren't rough on the pocketbook. So hope you had a great Thursday, and goodnight.

....to not go grocery shopping while you're hungry.

It always happens to me. I'm a little hungry, and then the suggestion is made to go pick up a certain few items for dinner from the store. Those items turn into you should just grab everything, and the next thing I know it I came for eggs, but I have a full cart with 3 bags of beef jerky. However, I will say that the fruits and vegetables looked especially good today so I stocked up. Totally organic, incredibly healthy, and absolutely delicious. We made a vegetable salad that I will post pictures of with a recipe tomorrow. It's one of our favorite summer dishes. I'm also going to be making a quiche. It's my dad's recipe. He also just started a blog, and you can check it out at www.dad-imjustsaying.com. I will make sure to include the recipe for that one as well.

I went to meet a client today at a place called Bone Daddy's in Austin, TX. I love Texas, but I don't understand why there is such a fascination with these Hooter's style eateries. All the girls are VERY scantily clad, and it just seems like a place you put the high school cheerleader out to pasture. I'm sure everyone there makes very good money, and I'm never one to step on the toes of someone expressing their sexuality, but aren't there enough of these places. In my line of work, and do business with a lot of contractors and construction companies, and it seems we always end up at these fine establishments. Twin Peeks, Hooters, Bone Daddy's, etc. I suppose if I didn't have a stunning girlfriend to come home to, that I might get desperate enough to go to one of these places and stare at women that think I'm a creep, but I'm a very lucky man. I really think that one of the most disappointing factors about these places is that I really enjoyed the FOOD! Hooters wings, Twin Peeks fried pickles, and Bone Daddy's stuffed jalapenos. They were all delicious! I would frequent all of these establishments if I didn't feel like a complete perv every time I went in there.

So I hope all of you checked out Pandora today, and I'm dying to know what you thought. Leave me some comments so we can all see how well it worked for you. At this point I'm exhausted and my body is ready to publish this post so that I can sleep. So Goodnight everyone, and may tomorrow bring you an opportunity to grab the reins and open a whole new world for yourself.

to pace yourself when drinking puppy champagne!

So today was Sweetie McGee's first birthday! She started out with a little happy birthday song that her Mama and I sang to her. Then it was a rollercoaster ride of treats, walks, fetch, and naptime. The highlight of the day was a puppy shopping spree. Her Mama and I took her to a really cute puppy boutique shop in Cedar Park/N. Austin. If you have a dog and live in Austin you must go by. The lady that owns it is so sweet. She stayed open an extra hr to help us out, and loves making the dogs that shop there so happy. It's called Doggie Deli Boutique http://www.doggiedeliboutique.com/. On the spree Sweetie picked out a new harness and leash, as well as some new toys, treats, and a party hat. She got a cookie shaped like a bday cake, and some treats in the shape of a burger and fries. By the time we got home she was so excited to play and try her new treats she ran in circles for a whole 5 minutes!! Then it was puppy nap time. Oh well it's only her first bday, and a wonderful one at that. Here are some pics I hope you enjoy them.

As for the rest of us that don't get to nap whenever we want, and lick ourselves in public, today was still nice. A gorgeous morning with blue skies and 70 degrees turned into a blistering hot 100 degrees and as musty as the old guys that play racquetball at my gym. However the morning was wonderfully peaceful. I've recently started using a french press to make fresh coffee in the morning and I'm really enjoying this new coffee I've gotten. It's called Costa Rica Tarrazu by Archer Farms. It is absolutely delicious. As I sat with an english muffin and my new perfect coffee I felt like I needed the perfect soundtrack to get my work done. I created an Aretha Franklin radio station on Pandora.com to listen to while I worked. I think it's pretty impossible to listen to those old soul artists and be anything but in a wonderful mood. So here is my challenge for tomorrow. If you haven't discovered www.pandora.com you need to check it out NOW! Go there and get started it's free! Once you've created an account start building stations. But tomorrow I want to challenge everyone to make a station that is from that old soul era. James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, etc., and listen to it for a couple of hours. I'm curious to see what it does to your day and current mood, because it had such a wonderful affect on mine, so leave me a comment and let me know.
I'll leave you with a thought today. It may seem silly or ridiculous to throw a birthday party for your dog (if you don't have a furry family member of your own), but something amazing happens to you when you share your love with someone else, no matter how many legs they have. The time we spend on this earth is so short, it's a shame to not give yourself as many great moments as possible. So whether it's great coffee, a song that takes you back, or a ridiculous party for your furry friend, make an effort to add something to make your time special everyday. Goodnight.

....to not wait so long before doing the dishes

Why is it that no matter what I do, or how much I clean that day, there are always dishes? As a guy (that is guilty of a few stereotypes) why do I insist on waiting until the sink is overflowing with dirty dishes? I like a clean house, and really enjoy living in one, but I'm fairly certain that there is a group of soda drinking, sandwich eating, bandits out there that break in when I'm napping and fill that sink with dishes. Where do these guys come from? And why can't they rinse the plate after eating eggs? So I suppose today's good idea is do your dishes now. Yes Now! Ok read this blog first, but you have to promise to get up and do them as soon as you're done. (Oh who am I kidding that's how it starts, and we all know how it ends) I'll just say this, fruit flies, although have a cute name, aren't cute. They're nasty. If it gets to the point that they are hanging out, call and apologize to your mother, and don't ever let it happen again.

Today was kind of fun. It was really relaxed for a monday. I know I know, if it was so laid back how come I didn't do the dishes. Well get off my back ok, we've moved on. My dog, who is affectionately named Sweetie McGee, hungout and napped next to me while I worked from home. Tomorrow is her first birthday, and her Mama and I are taking her to get a new harness and leash tomorrow. We will also be picking up some party favors and a pupcake so look forward to some pictures in the next couple days.

I guess I should introduce myself. I'm a guy, and my name is Odas. I live in Austin, TX by way of Oklahoma City and Seattle. I live with my girlfriend Katie Cupcake and our dog Sweetie McGee. This is my life, my family, my friends, my city, my music, my food, and my take on a few ideas. I hope you enjoy, and your feedback is always welcome.
